WHAT THE....?

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Ev’rywhere you go;
There’s a tree in the Grand Hotel, one in the park as well,
The sturdy kind that doesn’t mind the snow.

Remind me never to complain about Mother Nature again. She obviously cannot tolerate criticism. Maybe it was the “fickle wench” comment. (Even though we all know she is one.) But I’m not taking all the blame this time. Oh, yes, I know what you all have been doing. Yes…you! I know you not only stopped wearing your winter gear, but you actually packed it away. And you! I know you had the temerity to take your summer clothes out of storage. Now look what we’ve done.

On a nice day you can see downtown across this lake.

And, of course, this doesn’t happen on a weekend when one can stay at home, in front of a warm TV, and knit. Something in wool. Lots of wool.

The Knitting at Stash Haus has been on the back burner lately. I’m under a deadline to complete a lot of things at work and at home in the next month. I only get about 1/2 hour of knitting done every other evening, usually around midnight. The problem with late night knitting is I then have to fight the irresistible temptation to knit Just One More Row. I'm getting too old for nights of staying up until 2-3 a.m. (even when there's no alcohol involved) and then getting up 4 hours later and expected to be lucid all day. I've not made enough progress on any project yet – at least nothing worth photographing.

So we’ll leave you with my original Barbara Walker.

Please don’t drool on your keyboard.

Wow. I know you said not to, but I think I may have dribbled on my keyboard a little anyway. Whups.

And what /is/ it with this weather?! I swear, this is more snow than we had in December!

Sorry I missed you at the guild - I had a total flake-out moment and completely mis-remembered what time the meeting started. Let me know if you'd like to get together sometime to knit or something - my email is thornacious (at) gmail (dot) com. Hope to hear from you!
