There were many street vendors. Most of the food vendors' offerings looked like this.
The honorary bride and groom.
I think the whole town was in the parade. People took their costumes very seriously - most were quite elaborate.
The town square with Luther’s statute and the city church in the background.
An advantage to being in Wittenberg during the festival was that the museums were open longer than usual, so even though I was there on a Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning, I was able to see many of the sights on my list. After spending the night in Wittenberg, I headed to Eiseleben
for a couple of hours before getting back on the train and going to Eisenach. The main attraction for me in Eisenach was Wartburg Castle.
One of the best views of the surrounding countryside was from the women’s restroom.
The town of Eisenach is beautiful and I wish I had more time to explore it.
Fiber Alert in Wittenberg! There is a yarn shop in Wittenberg right near the City Church. Sadly, my train arrived at 12:05 p.m. and the shop closed at noon so I had to be content with window shopping.
RIP!!
I had to rip out about 8 inches of the Landscape Shawl. A couple of yarnovers were missed on a number of rows. It probably could have passed the galloping horse test, but I would not have been able to overlook the mistakes. And as Franklin advised, he has never regretted the time spent repairing a mistake. I quite agree.
Now if only Jean would give us an update of her family's achievements in the Games.

Wow, that's interesting. And the Martin Luther character looks pretty accurate, eh? Have fun traveling-----oh and knitting too.
