You all better sit down.
Really.
I'm knitting...
with yarn...
from the stash.
It's Misty Alpaca Hand Paint Chunky. This stuff is fantastic to work with - so soft. That pattern is My So-Called Scarf. I'm using a size 13 needle, so I get the pattern, but the fabric is not stiff. The only caveat to the yarn is that it sheds a bit. (I left a conference with my shirt full of fuzz.)
And in response to Sue's comment of the last post. While this may end up being a stupendous example of famous last words and all that...oh, no, no, no, no, no. I am not going to fall down that black hole of spinning. I enjoy watching people spin. But I don't think DH could take my starting a roving stash. And although we're in a bigger house, I don't know where I'd put roving or fleeces.
For those of you who wonder what on earth I did before I began knitting.
It's counted cross stitch. They are both quite large - about 14 inches by 18 inches. The white ground and sky are stitches, not just the fabric. I was able to get photos of these as I stayed overnight with the friend who received them as a gift. I can't tell you how many items I made and gave away without making some type of record of the project. Sad, really. Most of my projects were done on linen and always with DMC floss. I still have all my pattern books, threads, and fabric and still work on projects occasionally.
Are there crafts, other than knitting, that you enjoy?

I also had my cross stitch phase and also went through the Amish period in my cross stitchdom. That white is a killer but beautiful. The last one I did was on black fabric and after that I drifted back to knitting which is much easier on the eyes. I still have all the floss etc as I never have been one to do much in moderation.
I see we will have to call you Madam President....One of the largest guilds there is no less...Congratulations I did not know.
Having another stash and trying to store and control it is the only and I mean only reason I have not started spinning.
Sue
