A Little Too Real, Part One
Some of you may wonder what I do for a living.
For many various reasons, I don't (and probably shouldn't) discuss my work on the blog.
However, these next couple of posts will answer the question.
And yes - the conversations in these clips really do reflect my working reality.

There Goes The Sun
This was my drive home the other evening.

If only this was occurring at 9 p.m. rather than 6 p.m.
I feel that the older I get, the more I dislike the lack of daylight. Maybe this is my imagination, but I don't remember missing daylight when I was younger. Going to work and coming home in the dark holds absolutely no appeal.
I think it's time to start increasing the vitamin D. There's a picnic table in a relatively sheltered area near the building where I work. I think I need to get out over the lunch hour whenever the weather is fine.
What gets you through the long winter?

The Other Hobby
During the stifling heat of summer, it's hard to find one's knitting mojo. I prefer to knit with wool, but when it's over 90 degrees in the house, knitting holds no appeal.
So, I decided to bring out the cross stitch WIPs that have been "on the hoop" for a long time.

Why is it that, whether it's knitting or cross stitch, the finishing is the most tedious part? It is because the light at the end of the tunnel is so close and I only want to be done?
What do you do when its too hot to knit?

Back In The Saddle Again
I'm back once again.
As penance for my lack of blogging (and because many topics stacked up during my absence), I've joined NaBloPoMo. Hopefully this will get me back in the groove.
In the meantime, I am feeling my age -
because the first of my nieces and nephews
(who will always be like this in my mind)

is now married.
